Meet The Founder

Hi, my name is Jacob Van Pelt, and I am the founder of Enhanced Earth Farming. At the moment, I am the one who grows your microgreens, harvests your microgreens, and delivers your microgreens. I thought I would introduce myself and share a little background on who is taking care of your microgreens.

After growing up with aspirations to be an entrepreneur, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Entrepreneurship. I tried out starting a few other businesses, but without much success or real passion to keep them going, I was left wondering what to work on.

Then it so happened one day I saw a video on vertical farming and was instantly interested. After spending a few days taking in any information I could find on vertical farming, I realized this was the business I was supposed to work on.

I realized this subject was an accumulation of a lot of my interests: my interest in growing plants from having house plants and making terrariums, my interest in ingredients from enjoying cooking, my interest in farming after visiting my great-grandparents farm over the years, and my interest in technology after seeing how much is going into the development of vertical farming.

Then I realized microgreens were the easiest food to grow indoors so I thought I would start there, and luckily it turned out that they are extremely nutritious and have amazing flavor, so that was a plus!
